OVERVIEW

Makalu Base Camp trek is a challenging trek in a very remote area of Nepal. It is certainly an outstanding trek to the base camp of the world’s fifth highest mountain. You fly to Tumlinngtar and walk up the lush and beautiful Arun valley before crossing the Shipton La (4127 m) into the upper Barun Khola Valley. En route, you will meet the ethnic groups of Limbu, Newar and Rai at the lower elevations and Tibetan Buddhists at the higher elevations. At the Makalu base camp you can have closer panoramic views of Makalu (8481 m.) in addition to Everest, Lhotse, Baruntse and Peak 6 and 7.

This is a purely camping trek. The lodges are not available along the route. This trek goes high up to 5,100m. This is a region where you hardly find any modern facilities and amenities but blessed with an incredible diversity of natural beauty

Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m) Transfert to Hotel.

Day 02 free day in Kathmandu.

Day 03 Early morning flight to Tumlingtar prepare for the short walk by tomorrow.

Day 04 Tumlingtar to Mani Bhanjyang 1100m.

Day 05 Mani Bhanjyang to Chichila 1830m.

Day 06 Chichila to Num 1500m.

Day 07 Num to seduwa 1510m.

Day 08 Seduwa to Tashigaon 2070m.

Day 09 Tashigaon to Khongma 3560m.

Day 10 Khongma Rest for acclimatisazion.

Day 11 Khongma to Mumbuk 3550m.

Day 12 Mumbuk to Yangle Kharka 3600m.

Day 13 Yangle kharka to Merek4570m.

Day 14 Merek to shersong 4650m.

Day 15 Visit day.

Day 16 Shersong to Yangle Kharka.

Day 17 Yangle Kharka to Mumbuk.

Day 18 Mumbuk to Khongma.

Day 19 Khongma to Tashigaon.

Day 20 Tashigaon to Seduwa.

Day 21 Seduwa to Num.

Day 22 Num to Chichila.

Day 23 Chichila to Tumlingtar.

Day 24 Tumlingtar to Fly Kathmandu.

Day 25 Free day in Kathmandu.

Day 26 Transfer to the airport.

Price For The Trip: The total cost for the trek or tour you decide you want to do will depend on several different factors. The type of accommodation you prefer in Kathmandu will make a difference to the overall cost (budget to 5 star accommodations). The mode of transport you prefer will also affect the cost of your package, for example prices vary greatly between flying versus private car/van, tourist or local buses. The camping trek and teahouse trek made a difference in the cost. The number of guides and porters required will also affect the total cost of your trek. For these reasons, the same trek / tour can vary in price quite substantially.
