Biking from Kathmandu to Pokhara tours present one of the most thrilling biking experiences in Nepal. This trip is a stunning ride where you will explore many historical towns and picturesque villages along with a magnificent view of nature and mountains. It is a great way to get away from the bustling city and merge with the local people and landscape.

Kathmandu to Pokhara biking tour takes you on an incredible off-road route connecting Nagarkot, Kakani, Trishuli, Gorkha, Besisahar, Kalasti, and Pokhara.

Please note that there will be vehicle support on this trip. This is pure adventurous mountain biking and so you are not required to take anything with you. Your belongings will be loaded onto the vehicle. The landscape throughout this trip is a bit challenging so the vehicle takes another route and follows directly behind us during the day. The vehicle will arrive before us at the end of the day to set up camp prior to our arrival.

Schedule for each day
Days: 1 Ride to Nagarkot and Bhaktapur sightseeing approx. total distance: 21km)  
After breakfast we drive to Nagarkot . After enjoying spectacular views from Nagarkot, from the viewpoint we continue our ride along the valley rim before your descent to Bhaktapur, one of the prehistoric city of the Valley. You cycle all the way through the countryside of the Valley. After explore Bhaktapur either ride or drive back to hotel.
Days: 2 Ride to Kakani (Approx. 29 km)  
The bike tour from Kathmandu to Kakani is blacktopped ride which is one of the enthralling and exciting expeditions. It is situated 29 km north west of Kathmandu at an altitude of 2000 meter. Kakani is one of the popular tour hill station that offer spectacular views of dazzling mountains specifically Annapurna (8091m), Manaslu (8165m), Ganesh Himal (7446m), Lantang lirung (7245m ) and many more other peaks. This place also offers bird’s eye view of Kathmandu valley from the height of 2,030 meters. While cycling you passes through beautiful rhododendrons, oak, pine forest on the mountain slopes. You can also see Thai Airways Memorial Park, large police training college, army posts crowd and the century-old villa used by the British Embassy. Another highlight of biking to Kakani is sunrise and sunset view on backdrop of sparkling peaks.
Days: 3 Ride to Trishuli (Approx. total distance: 43km)  
Today we will be having descended ride of 1600m over a distance of 25km, on the old highway, with our only long part on the main highway. It is 7km following the Trisuli river till Batar Bazar to reach our off road turn-off. After a short time we traverse the Trisuli River and keep on riding the main highway for 11km to our campsite on the riverbank.
Days: 4 Ride to Gorkha via Mailung  
We follow the river for 4km until we are obliged to lift bike for 25 minutes up a steeped trail and then descend, to a wobbly path that clings to the hillside. After a slight slope on Jeep trial on a wild and overgrown track we reach Buri Gandaki valley. We continue rough surging track takes us for 5km to the village of Mailung situated at 1100m elevation. Along the way you pass through eye-catching view of nature. This is the mid-way point between Kathmandu and Pokhara but is rarely visited by foreigner which is perfect place to relax before we carry on our trip the next day. Gorkha is the most significant historical importance to the Nepalese as it is the birthplace of King Prithvi Narayan Shah, the king who integrated smaller kingdoms into one kingdom. The renowned status of the Gurkhas originates from this town who still serve in special British Gurkha forces. You can utilize your day either by resting or sightseeing tour up to the ancient Gorkha Durbar (palace) where you have to climb 300m above the town. It’s worthy to climb as you can spectacular view of Annapurna and Manaslu. We can also take half-day bike ride around the town. During the ride you come across the eye-catching nature views. It is an ideal place to unwind before we continue our journey the subsequent day. We overnight at Hotel.
Days: 5 Ride to Besi sahar (Approx. total distance: 23km)  
Today we continue our biking on a jeep track and a blacktop road for 13km to the Dorandi River which is perfect spot for lunch and a swim. The trail lead us to the begin of the Annapurna trek and we follow this route, on cemented road, for a distance of 10km before we traverse the rampant Marsyangdi River and keep on riding path to Besi Sahar.
Days: 6 Ride to Kalasti (Approx. total distance: 28km)  
From here we keep on cycling on the main highway for about 2 km. The trail clings to the ridge as we pass all the way through quaint villages and wooded area. We then follow the river on a rough jeep track to our camp- site near the village of Kalasti. The camp is pitched with beautiful view after an exceptional day’s riding.
Days: 7 Ride to Begnas Lake (Approx total distance: 48km)  
Today we traverse two small bridges through the ridge of Sundari Danda which is long and challenging. As we head towards our way through this splendid area we come across with inquisitive villagers. You have to lift bike in some part of terrain because of rough and demanding track. We leave on a large track but after riding downhill of about of 350m to the second pass we continue on a wild single track, through terraced fields and irrigation channels to our lakeside camp at Begnas Tal.
Days: 8 Ride to Kali Hill (Approx. total distance: 28km)  
Today we commence the day’s riding on a bumpy dirt track, leaving Begnas Lake behind through the village of Hot Chili climb to top of the Kali hill on single track.
Days: 9 Ride back to Pokhara (Approx. total distance: 21km)  
The final day’s ride takes us over a downhill into the Bijayapur Khola valley. We traverse the shallow river wading or on stones set into it and finally reach a straight jagged road from where we ride back to Pokhara. After you reach Pokhara you have time to relax and take rest or explore Pokhara valley.
Days: 10Fly back to Kathmandu  
After breakfast transfer to airport and fly back to Kathmandu, receive and transfer to Hotel, rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.
Days: 11 Final Departure from Kathmandu  
The airport representative from Nepal New Generation Family will transport you to Kathmandu International Airport around 3 hours before your scheduled flight from where you will depart. Meals: Breakfast included.
